Ranchi: Gyan Ranjan, block development officer of Namkum in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi, has been accused of accepting a bribe. In fact, an incident of taking a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from a transporter contractor Sanjeet Kumar Yadav has come to light on the Namkum block development officer. This has been revealed in the investigation of the District Supply Office. In this connection, a written complaint by the transporter and an audio video clip of the illegal transactions were also made available to the district supply.

Let us tell you that in the case of these serious allegations, a team was also formed by the Food Supply Office. The statement of 12 persons was taken due to the investigation of the team. Also, on the basis of evidence given by the aggrieved party, the Block Development Officer was found guilty. The district food supply officer has submitted the inquiry report to the Ranchi deputy commissioner. Also, action has been recommended by the Deputy Commissioner from the Department of Personnel in the matter.

A written complaint was given to the district supply office on March 26 by transport sensor Sanjeet Kumar Yadav. In this case, it was reported that the block development officer of Namkum, Gyan Prakash Jaiswal, is demanding money and being harassed for not giving it. According to the allegation, Rs 5 lakh was given to the block development officer in January, the video clip of which was also given by the applicant. Even after this, in the month of March 2022 also, the same amount was demanded by the Block Development Officer, Namkum. It has also come to light that in case of not giving money, there is also a threat of FIR and blacklisting. The same enquiry has also confirmed that Samiullah Khan (dealer) along with block supply officer, Namkum, works at the behest of block development officer, Namkom and collects the illegal amount.
