Uric acid is a waste product in the body, the normal level of which is between 3.5 to 7.2 mg/dL. But it depends on the condition of the body. When the level of uric acid increases or the kidney is unable to remove it properly, it accumulates in the blood. This is called hyperuricemia. In this condition, there is pain in the fingers and toes, the soles of the feet may become red, there is excessive thirst and sometimes fever may also occur. Why does uric acid increase? Uric acid can increase due to mistakes in eating habits. Many people eat such things in everyday life, which increases the level of uric acid and can cause kidney stones.

Mistakes that increase uric acid:

Dietary mistakes:  According to Ayurveda experts, Indian food has a lot of oil and chillies. Excess oil and spicy food can increase uric acid. Preservative foods, which are made in cold storage, can also increase the level of uric acid in the body. Therefore, such pulses, vegetables or foods made from gram flour should be avoided.

Excessive consumption of pulses:  Pulses are rich in protein, which can increase uric acid rapidly. According to Dr. Gupta, pulses should not be left outside for a long time. If you want to eat pulses later, store them in the refrigerator. Pulses kept outside can increase uric acid twice as fast.

Sour things:  Sour things like amchur, tamarind, raw tomato and raw mango panna can increase uric acid. In such a situation, it is better to consume lemon or amla, as they can help in reducing uric acid from the body.

Outside food:  Outside food like samosas and kachoris contain palm oil and a lot of spices, which can increase uric acid. Non-veg also contains a lot of oil and chillies, which increases uric acid. Such foods can be harmful for the body.

Adopt a healthy lifestyle:  Some lifestyle changes are necessary to control uric acid:

Wake up early in the morning: Go for a regular walk or indulge in any other physical activity.
Eat fibre-rich foods: Have fibre-rich foods for breakfast.
Eat curd or buttermilk: Have curd or buttermilk in the afternoon.
Eat on time: Eat meals at the right time and drink enough water throughout the day. Water helps flush out uric acid from the body.
