Kolkata: Another BJP leader has been murdered in West Bengal. According to reports, a BJP leader was shot dead in broad daylight in Dinhata area of the state. The name of the deceased leader is Prashant Roy Basunia. The incident, which took place in Dinhata's Shimultala area, has created a sensation. The BJP has blamed criminals backed by the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) for the murder, a charge denied by the party.
North Bengal Development Minister and MLA Udayan Guha has claimed that the incident has nothing to do with politics. He claimed that the deceased was involved in various anti-social activities. At the same time, according to the family of the deceased, today i.e. on Friday (June 2) morning, Prashant was sitting on a cot in the house and the gate of the house was open. Meanwhile, some youths entered the house and opened fire on Prashant. Police have also found evidence of firing in the house. Blood was found in front of the bed. Hearing the sound of gunshots, the family members also rushed to the spot and took Prashant to the hospital. But the doctors declared the BJP leader from Dinhata dead.
The allegation of entering the house in broad daylight and killing the BJP leader has naturally caused a stir in the area. The family claims that the youths who entered the house have not been traced. Minister Udayan Guha said, "TMC has nothing to do with the attack. I can't even say how big a BJP leader the deceased was, but I know that he was involved in many anti-social activities. The police are investigating the case. The law will take its own course."
