Kolkata: Several crude bombs were reportedly attacked during a protest by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal's Sitalkuchi. This led to a stampede at the protest site. According to the information received so far, 2 workers have been injured, who are undergoing treatment in the hospital. According to the police, the situation is normal at the moment. The incident took place on September 11, 2022 (Sunday).

According to media reports, the incident took place in the Behar area. Here, BJP workers were protesting against the issue of ED and CBI raids on Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders and the properties being recovered from them. During this time, suddenly one crude bomb started exploding on the spot. BJP district president Sukumar Roy has informed that the rally was against TMC leaders who have carried out all the scams. According to Sukumar, the rally was not only attacked with crude bombs but also stones. Roy also confirmed injuries to two party workers.

According to the BJP, the attack was carried out by TMC workers, while the TMC has categorically denied the allegations. According to TMC MP Santanu Sen, people could not gather in BJP rallies, so such excuses are being made by them. The TMC MP described the BJP as a self-destructive party. Has also blamed the BJP's ideology behind the violence.
