The outbreak of coronavirus in Bengal is increasing continuously. For the people of Bengal who are very fond of food in the state, the Mamta government took a big decision on Monday evening and allowed them to open sweets shops for 4 hours every day during the lockdown. From Tuesday, sweet shops will be allowed to open between 12 to 4 in the state.

The Mamata government also issued a notification in this regard to the people of the state on Monday late evening. However, sweet shops are allowed to open with conditions. During this time no more than 2 employees will be in the sweets shop. That is, we have been asked to follow social distancing completely.

Thousands of litres of milk was being wasted every day due to the closure of sweets shops. Other organizations, including the West Bengal Mishthan Vyasayan Samiti, had approached Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to allow them to open sweet shops during lockdown to prevent wastage of milk. After which, giving relief to them, conditions have been given to open sweets shops for 4 hours every day.
