Kolkata: The incident of political violence in West Bengal is not going to stop. The atmosphere in Bhatpara area of North 24 Parganas district again became tense on Wednesday. A Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader was shot dead on Wednesday morning. This has created tension across the region. However, TMC leaders narrowly escaped. the TMC leader was reportedly shot in the head with a gun. The incident took place not far from Bhatpara police station.

The victim TMC leader's name is Asim Roy. According to the report, Asim Roy is the convener of trinamool Congress in Bhatpara and is considered to have a good hold in the area. Police have launched a probe into the entire case. Asim Roy has his house in Bhatpara area. He was leaving home this morning and going to the party office. He was standing in front of the house to catch the auto. Three youths had reportedly brought bikes at that time.

Two people were riding on one bike and another was on the bike. Each of them had a gun in their hands. They came from behind and opened fire on Aseem and pushed him down. According to the information, Aseem's head exploded. When he fell down in a pool of blood, the locals picked him up. As soon as the news was received, other party workers also left and were taken to the hospital. He was discharged after first aid.
