Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee has passed away at the age of 85. He was ill for a long time and was admitted in the hospital. Doctors made a lot of efforts to make him healthy but Soumitra Chatterjee's condition was getting worse day by day. The actor was placed on a life support system, not responding to treatment. Finally, on 15 November at 12.15, Soumitra Chatterjee breathed his last.

Soumitra Chatterjee's departure to the world has shocked his fans and stars. Fans are paying tribute to him by remembering Soumitra Chatterjee on social media. Let me tell you, Saumitra Chatterjee was admitted to the hospital on 6 October after being found to be COVID-19 positive. He had recovered from COVID-19. But his health was badly affected due to covid encephalopathy.

A large team of experts from Neurology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Critical Care Medicine were trying to bring Soumitra Chatterjee's health back on track in the last 40 days. But none of the efforts were successful. Soumitra Chatterjee was a big figure in the Bangla industry. He started his career with the film 'Apur Sansar' in 1959. Soumitra acted in 14 movies with Oscar-winning director Satyajit Ray.
