BENGALURU MOLESTATION INCIDENT: Cong MP gives a communal twist

BANGALURU: After the “western clothes” comment from the Karnataka home minister and the “women are sugar, men are ants” remark from Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asim Azmi, Congress Rajya Sabha MP BK Hariprasad has given a communal twist to the incident in Bengaluru.

BK Hariprasad has blamed the “Hindutva brigade” for the molestations.

“It is all because of the moral policing people who have recently infiltrated into Karnataka. We have seen pub attacks, we have seen moral policing during Valentine's Day - it was never the culture of Bangalore. Only these fringe elements of this Hindutva culture after their infiltration into Bangalore and the administration, these things have taken place,” BK Hariprasad said.

The Congress MP also hit out at MoS Home Kiren Rijiju for his statement against the Karnataka home minister.

On Monday, Rijiju had condemned the “irresponsible” statement made by G Parameswara, adding, “we can't allow the shameful act of mass molestation go unpunished.”

“Rijiju and BJP spokesperson made a strong statement about the incident in Bangalore. The same day in Churu, a woman was molested so badly and they have spoken nothing about it. Rijiju, being the home minister should know what is happening under his own nose in Delhi. There should not be a fashion of these BJP and fringe elements of the Sanghis to malign Bangalore city,” BK Hariprasad stated.
