Bengaluru: A Facebook post during the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday in Bengaluru resulted in tremendous violence. The people of particular community fiercely indulged in violence and arson in many areas here which is a huge loss to the region. To overcome the situation, the police had to shoot, in which 3 people died. In view of the situation not being uncontrollable, Section 144 has been imposed in the area of DJ Halli and KG Halli area till 6 am on August 15. Police Commissioner Kamal Pant has given this information.
When Section 144 is implemented, 4 or more people are prevented from gathering at one place. Rapid Action Force (RAF) has carried out a flag-march in DJ Halli. The government has called this violence as planned violence. Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that the District Magistrate will investigate the violence in Bengaluru on Tuesday and said that 146 people have been arrested so far.
In a meeting with senior officers of CM, it has been decided that the District Magistrate will investigate this incident as per the guidelines of the National Human Rights Commission. Those arrested have been accused of arson, stone pelting and assault on the police. CM BS Yeddyurappa has condemned the MLA's residence, targeting the police station and spreading the riot. He said, "strict action has been directed against the culprits and the government has taken all steps to stop the violence." Attacks on police, media personnel and ordinary citizens cannot be forgiven. The government is not going to tolerate such incidents.
