Dehradun: Delhi Police have arrested a man from Dehradun who escaped after attacking his sister-in-law in a live-in relationship with her. According to Delhi Police, the name of the accused is Arjun who had been living in a live-in relationship with the victim for the past 2-3 months. The victim is the wife of her brother. On the night of June 22, the police team received information that a woman was injured in Narela Industrial Area.

Police rushed the woman to the hospital where her condition remains critical. In the investigation, the woman's room was found empty of a mobile phone box containing an IMEI number. An examination of the number revealed that a mobile phone was being used and in Dehradun. The police found a photo of the person using the mobile through it. Neighbors found out that his name was Arun when he showed the photo. The accused had also misidentified his name to the neighbors. After investigation, the police detained the accused Arjun from his sister's house in Dehradun.

The accused told police that he was in a live-in relationship with his brother's wife, but now he did not want to pursue the relationship. So he hit a big stone on his sister-in-law's chair on the night of June 22. When he thought his sister-in-law was dead, he absconded. The accused is originally a resident of Ara in Bihar and the injured Rita is his sister-in-law. The accused said, "My sister-in-law fell in love with me and used tantra-mantra at the behest of a sadhu Baba to subdue me. For him, he had been feeding me for the past one year by mixing my blood with my food. Even if I refused many times, she would get angry, I took these steps to get rid of it."
