Chandigarh: To save electricity and scorching heat, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Punjab has made a new announcement. Let us tell you that the Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab has announced a change in the timings for the government offices. Now, i.e., from May 2 to July 15, government offices will open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. Earlier, government offices used to open from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m.

CM Bhagwant Mann has been informed about this change through video conferencing. In this way, Punjab has become the first state in India to implement this rule. Let us tell you that this rule will be effective in the entire Punjab from May 2 and will remain in force until July. On the other hand, Chief Minister Mann has said that I and all the other ministers will start work at 7:30 a.m. in their respective offices in the Punjab sector, and this work will continue until 2:00 p.m. CM Mann also said that this rule will be applicable to all, and after July 15, the routine time will start again from 9:00 to 5:00. He further said that the timing would help reduce power consumption during peak hours.

According to him, the early closure of the office will reduce pressure on the power grid and promote energy conservation. The Punjab government has made this announcement at a time when many states in India are facing the problem of power cuts. Due to the implementation of this rule by the Punjab government, there is a possibility of a reduction in the consumption of 300 to 350 megawatts of electricity.
