India's 19-year-old shooter Manu Bhaker failed to qualify for the women's 10m Air Pistol final after securing 12th place in the qualification round. It was Manu's pistol that has disappointed the 1.2 billion hopes and knocked her. At the end of the game she managed to score only 575 points, she also expressed displeasure over the malfunctioning of the pistol.
In the middle of the second series, there was a circuit fault in the electronic trigger of Manu's pistol which malfunctioned during the qualification round and she had to go to the test tent with her coach and a member of the jury to replace it. She lost around seven minutes of her time in the campaign.
Former shooter Hina Sidhu has reacted to the technical fault in Manu Bhaker's pistol. She tweeted,
Manu and Deswal rank 12, 13 with 575 and 574. I think they put up a brave brave fight especially Manu, after having some problem with her equipment. I think this experience will make them stronger for the mixed team event which I'm really looking forward to now
