Indian weightlifter Bharali Bedabrate has won a bronze medal in the men's 67kg category at the World Youth Championships. India's 15-year-old Indian lifter lifted a total of 276 kg and won a bronze medal on Monday night. Reports say that Bharali lifted 119 kg in snatch, while in clean and jerk he successfully executed a lift of 148 kg.
Seryozha Barseghyan of Armenia won the gold with a total lift of 275 kg (128 kg + 147 kg), while Mohammed Al Marzouk of Saudi Arabia won the silver medal with a total lift of 270 kg (119 kg + 148 kg). Bharali also won a bronze medal in the clean and jerk category with a best lift of 148 kg. At the continental and world championships, separate medals are awarded for the snatch, clean and jerk, and total lift, while only the total lift is awarded at the Olympic Games. Commonwealth Games 2022 champion Jeremy Lalrinnunga holds the youth world records in total (306kg), snatch (140 kg), and clean jerk (166kg) in this weight category.

In the continental and world championships, medals are awarded separately for snatch, clean, and jerk and for the total weight class, but only one medal is being awarded for the total weight class in the Olympic Games.
