Baghpat: The 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' of Congress reached Baghpat, which is called 'Jatland' of UP. After a night's rest at Mavi Kalan in Baghpat, it started again today at 6 am under the leadership of former party president Rahul Gandhi. Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) President Jayant Chaudhary has not participated in the yatra. However, party workers led by the district president of RLD have joined it.

Congress Uttar Pradesh unit spokesperson Anshu Awasthi said that Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Mavi Kalan from Delhi in the morning and as per the pre-determined schedule, the yatra was started once again from 6 am. However, Priyanka did not attend the morning yatra. According to party sources, she is likely to join the yatra after 12 noon.

Meanwhile, Baghpat District President of RLD Rampal Dhama along with many party leaders and workers also participated in 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. Earlier, it was told from the Congress side that RLD President Jayant Chaudhary would also take part in the yatra, but RLD National Secretary Anil Dubey told that Jayant is currently abroad. Amidst the bitter cold, Rahul was once again seen walking in a white T-shirt. People in large numbers left with them carrying the tricolor in their hands. On this occasion, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh and State Congress President Brijlal Khabri, including many senior leaders were also seen walking with Rahul. Congress's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' entered UP from Ghaziabad's Loni border on Tuesday afternoon. This yatra will leave for Haryana on Thursday via Shamli from Baghpat.
