BANGALORE: Siddaramaiah, the opposition leader in Karnataka and the former chief minister, said in a  tweet on Monday, March 20, about the Bharat Jodo Yatra and the police visit to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's home.

Siddaramaiah said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra was a representation of the unity of India and a means by which all Indians could express the current problems they were facing.

Based on feedback he heard during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he added that targeting Rahul Gandhi for speaking up for women is part of a political vengeance. Millions of women had the courage to speak up and proudly recount their struggles thanks to the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said.

On Twitter, Siddaramaiah posted that Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is trying to silence the voices of women.

As Delhi Police visited Congress MP Rahul Gandhi at his home to inquire about the alleged sexual harassment victims cited in his speech in Srinagar during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, leaders of the BJP and Congress voiced their opinions.
Sources said, Congress Member Rahul Gandhi has provided the Delhi Police with a preliminary response in response to the notice the Delhi Police sent him on Sunday requesting information regarding the alleged victims of sexual harassment.

It is also said  that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi promised to provide a thorough response in the following 8 to 10 days in his response to the Delhi Police.

Rahul Gandhi responded by citing the source and saying, "When you first contacted me on March 16, I advised you to wait seven to eight days, but you returned two days later. I met thousands of individuals during a padayatra that covered 4000 kilometres over the course of 140 days. To explain specifics, I need time to give details."
