From December 27-29, 2021, the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs of Tripura, will host Bharat Ko Jaano, a three-day Chain Yatra event at several sites across Tripura.
Folk and tribal dances will be included during the event, which is part of the 'National Cultural Exchange initiative,' with the goal of reaching out to both rural and urban communities. These activities are held to raise awareness of the country's rich cultural variety and to foster national integration via culture.
The event will take held in several locations in Tripura, including Udaipur, Jirania, and Agartala. According to the itinerary, the festival's opening ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. at Udaipur's Rajashri Kala Kshetra. The second day's programme will begin at 11 a.m. in Jirania's Agnibina Hall, while the third day's event will begin at 12 p.m. at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar English Model School Community Hall in West Ananda Nagar, Agartala.
The festival will include folk artiste troupes from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand, Manipur, Odisha, and Tripura's indigenous culture troupes. In the event, the artists will present traditional dance and musical cultural performances.
Arunachal Pradesh's Rikhampada & Juju Jaja Dance, Assam's Bihu Dance, Jharkhand's Seraikela Chhau Dance, Manipur's Thang-Ta & Pung Choolam, and Odisha's Ghudka Sambalpuri Dance are among the folk dances. Different local cultural troupes will also perform folk and tribal music, songs, and dances.The festival has been invited by Gouri Basu, Director of the NEZCC, and Ratan Biswas, Director of the ICA. The event is free to attend, but participants must wear a face mask in accordance with COVID19 regulations, according to chief coordinator Suman Majumder in a news release.
