Chandrasekhar has also appeared in anti-CAA demonstrations earlier. He had also filed a petition against it in the apex court, in which he termed CAA as arbitrary of the government. He was also arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the protest against the CAA in Delhi. Chandrasekhar remains in the headlines for controversies in the coming days. Opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act has not yet cooled across the country. The process of protests demanding the removal of this law is still going on.

The sit-in demonstration has been going on since 15 December 2019 in the capital's Shaheen Bagh. The case also reached the top court. During the hearing, the apex court has said that it is your fundamental right to protest, but it is not right to do road jamming in this way. There is also a place for picketing. The court has appointed arbitrators to negotiate with the protesters.
