The Supreme Court of India today heard the petition of activists Gautam Navlakha and Anand Teltumbde in the Supreme Court. Activists Gautam Navlakha and Anand Teltumbde have filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking more time for surrender. His lawyer told the SC that both are over 65 years of age and have heart disease. The lawyer said that going to jail at the time of Coronavirus is actually a death sentence.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta opposed the petition and said that this is only a way to take more time. The Supreme Court has reserved its order on this petition for the time being.

Earlier on 18 March, Bhima Koregaon Commission in Maharashtra has asked Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar to appear before the Commission on 4 April. The Commission is inquiring into the reasons which led to the Bhima Koregaon violence in Maharashtra in 2018.Though, a few days ago, there was a growing tussle between the Shiv Sena and the NCP after the Bhima Koregaon violence was handed over to the National Investigation Agency. Regarding which NCP chief Sharad Pawar expressed unhappiness over Uddhav Thackeray's decision and also called a meeting of all 16 ministers of the party. It is to be known that the work of investigation of Elgar Parishad has also been entrusted to NIA.
