Bhind: An order of the Bhind Collector of Madhya Pradesh has become in the news. The order has been issued to the office employees who have given certificates of illness at the time of election duty. In doing so, they have been asked to be given compulsory retirement. These days, the Panchayat and municipal elections in Madhya Pradesh are in full swing. The code of conduct has been imposed and all the government officials are being engaged in the Panchayat and civic body elections. In such a situation, Bhind district magistrate S Satish Kumar has issued an order and it has been stated in this order that in order to avoid election duty, whichever officer will be placed, the employee will get a certificate of illness.

Action for compulsory retirement under the rule of governance will be taken against them for 20 years of service or under the age of 50 years. It is true that some staff officers make excuses for such illnesses and try to withdraw from election duty. But what about those officer employees who are really sick and unable to perform election duty?

The District Magistrate in his order has also put the certificate of the Medical Board in the dock which issues certificates of illness under the rules of the government. Now, in such a situation, the question is whether this order of the District Magistrate will have a bad effect on those officer employees who are really sick and cannot do their duty due to health reasons. Obviously, this order of the District Magistrate has been prepared without the ground reality and there is a great need for reconsideration.
