In Madhya Pradesh, Corona's havoc continues to increase. In such a situation, the lockdown has been made more stringent. Because of this, every work is stalled. At the same time, farmers taking short-term (Rabi and Kharif season) loans from the district cooperative central banks at zero percent interest rate will now be able to deposit the amount till 31 May. The state government will also provide loans to farmers at zero percent interest rate for the next Kharif and Rabi season. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken this decision in a meeting held with officers of the Finance and Cooperation Department on Saturday.

Through cooperative banks, primary agricultural credit cooperatives provide agricultural loans at zero percent interest rate. In this, 65 percent share is given as cash amount. The content of the remaining part is given. In Kharif season 2019, about 20 lakh farmers have taken a loan of eight and a half thousand crore rupees.

Actually, the farmers were to return this amount by 28 March, but due to Corona epidemic, the government had extended its duration till 30 April. The situation is still not right in the state, in view of which the government has extended the loan repayment period to 31 May.
