Srinagar: The state intelligence agency of Jammu and Kashmir Police, SIA, has arrested 10 people working for terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. The arrests were made by SIA officials while conducting overnight raids at various places in the south and central districts of Kashmir. SIA has been formed recently. The agency has been tasked with investigating crimes related to terrorism and separatism.

Officials have informed that during the investigation by the SIA, 10 people working for the terror outfit's 'sleeper cell' were identified. None of them knew about each other's activities. They were taking instructions directly from the terror commanders of Jaish-e-Mohammed. An official said that the people of this module were working in such a way that even if a member is caught, the network is not revealed. This module was detected through continuous monitoring. Those arrested were involved in recruiting youths, arranging money and delivering arms to south and central Kashmir.

Officials said that during the checking, cellphones, SIM cards, records of transactions in banks and a dummy pistol were also found. Among those arrested is the man in whose house four terrorists were killed on April 4, 2020. He said the aim of these people was to fund terror activities in the south and central Kashmir and make school and college-going students into terrorists. Digital records have been recovered from them and they are being sent to forensic labs for analysis of evidence.
