New Delhi: The corona infection epidemic and another infection in the world affected by its new variants has raised concerns. The name of this new infection is Lassa fever, which has been obtained in the United Kingdom. It is being said that the new infection has so far caused the death of three people here. Health officials warned that there was a possibility of an epidemic.

When was the first case of the Lassa virus detected:-
The disease was discovered in 1969 and was named after the city in Nigeria where its first cases were reported. According to the report, an estimated 100,000 to 300,000 people are positive each year from Lassa fever, including about 5,000 deaths.

It is difficult to detect the infected:-
The biggest problem with the same Lassa fever is that 80% of its cases are asymptomatic, due to which it is very difficult to detect. According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, some patients have to be admitted to hospitals and their disease can be very serious. Up to 15% of the patients admitted to the hospital with the Lassa virus can die.
