New Delhi: The Delhi government has extended the period of free ration till the month of May. On Monday, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Imran Hussain said that Arvind Kejriwal's government has taken care of every problem of the people of Delhi due to the corona epidemic. Even after the corona cases have come down, the government will continue to give free ration to the beneficiaries to reduce the economic hardships caused by corona.

Not only this, along with beneficiaries with ration cards in Delhi, non-PDS beneficiaries (without ration cards) are also being given free ration.

He also said that civil defence volunteers have been deployed by the Delhi government to ensure safety norms and ensure smooth distribution of free ration to the beneficiaries for effective management at ration shops. It will also ensure that people visiting ration shops wear masks and follow corona protocol. Following the inspection of ration shops, the local people discussed with the Minister the pending applications for entering the names of beneficiaries in the new ration card and old ration card.
