Chandigarh: The Consumer Forum has fined Big Bazaar for taking separate money from the customer to carrying bags. The forum has ordered Big Bazaar to pay the victim Rs 500 in case of expenses along with depositing ten thousand rupees in the consumer legal aid account. Along with this, the complainant has been ordered to return one thousand rupees for mental problems and 18 rupees recovered for a carry bag.

Baldev, hailing from Panchkula district of Haryana, had given information in the complaint given to the forum that he had gone for shopping in Big Bazaar on 20 March 2019. The billing counter employee took Rs 18 for the carry bag separately from him. For this Baldev also denied and said that it is illegal but not considered an employee.

Distressed, Baldev filed a complaint in the Consumer Forum. At the same time, Big Bazaar argued in its favor that it was displayed at the store regarding the carry bag fee and the customer was also informed about this. The Consumer Forum has given its decision after hearing the arguments of both the parties.
