In this episode, former Maharashtra Congress President and Congress Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat has resigned from the party.
Earlier, Balasaheb Thorat had written a letter to the party high command complaining against Nana Patole. He also wrote in the letter that now it is becoming difficult to work with Nana Patole in the party. The infighting in the party came to the fore when Sudhir Tambe, the brother-in-law of Balasaheb Thorat and the then MLC of Nashik, refused to contest the elections even though he was the official candidate of the Congress and got his son Satyajit Tambe to contest as an independent.
When the results came out on February 2, Satyajit Tambe won the election. With this victory, Congress had to face embarrassment. At the same time, Balasaheb Thorat's silence in this whole incident was seen as tacit support of the father-son duo. Although Thorat did not participate in the election campaign of Satyajit Tambe. But many of his relatives were involved. On the other hand, the Congress party has suspended Sudhir Tambe and Satyajit Tambe from the party.
