Varanasi: The Allahabad High Court has given its important verdict in the Shringar Gauri case related to the Gyanvapi dispute in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The Anjuman Intezamia Mosque Committee has received a major setback from the court regarding a petition seeking regular worship of Shringar Gauri. The court dismissed the objection of the Muslim side and considered the petition of the Hindu side worthy of hearing. After the high court's decision, the way has been cleared for hearing the petition seeking regular worship. The district court will hear a petition seeking regular worship of Varanasi Shringar Gauri. The single bench of Justice J J Munir has given this decision.

In fact, Rakhi Singh and 9 others had filed a civil suit in the Varanasi court demanding regular worship of Shringar Gauri. The Hindu side had sought permission to offer regular prayers at other religious places, including Shringar Gauri, located in the Gyanvapi complex. On the orders of the Supreme Court, the district court had to decide whether the case was maintainable or not. Due to the hearing, the Muslim side had sought dismissal of the case, arguing that it was not nutritious in the court. The court, while rejecting the contention of the Muslim side, has said in its verdict that the matter can be heard under Order 07 Rule 11 of the Code of Civil Procedure.

The mosque's management committee had filed an application in the Allahabad High Court against the rejection of its objection in this case. The petition had challenged the september 12 verdict of the varanasi district judge's court. Ten persons, including five women, were made parties to the suit filed in the court. In fact, the court of the District Judge of Varanasi had already rejected the objection filed by the Muslim side. The Muslim side had contended that civil suits under the Place of Worship Act of 1991 and the Central Waqf Act of 1995 were not sustainable. This decision of the district judge was challenged by the mosque committee in the High Court. Let us tell you that women have been allowed to worship Shringar Gauri on the fourth day of Chaitra and Vasantik Navratri.
