In a major blow to team India ahead of ICC World Cup 2019, Hardik Pandya was hit under the arm while taking throwdowns. He is seen as one of the pillars in the Indian team because of his all-around capability.

According to the report, Hardik is said to have been hit while taking throwdowns. One of the deliveries hit him hard and he then left the session in between, excruciating with pain. He didn't return to the middle after that. However, It isn't yet confirmed whether the injury will rule him out of the Bangladesh clash, although he is expected to be fine for the match.

The injury, ahead of the Bangladesh encounter, however, has left fans wondering whether the 25-year-old will be available for the important fixture.

During warm up match against Newzealnd, Team India’s batting unit faltered immensely, especially against Trent Boult, as his swinging deliveries troubled India's entire top-order. Ravindra Jadeja was the only player who managed to hit a fifty at the Oval, taking the team to a total of 179 runs. After Jadeja, Hardik was the only other player who managed to touch the 30-run mark, facing 37 deliveries while hitting 6 fours. Chasing the target, Kane Williamson's men reached the 180-run mark in 37.1 overs.
