Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah's security lapse has come to light from Maharashtra. It is reported that a person posing as an officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs stayed around Shah for a long time. However, the police arrested him. Apart from Shah, the arrested person was also seen near the residences of State CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.

The 32-year-old has been identified as Hemant Pawar. The man, a resident of Dhule, claims to be the personal secretary of an MP from Andhra Pradesh. He roamed around Shah for a long time wearing an ID card of the Home Ministry. Police said that he had reached there like an officer looking after the security arrangements. When a Home Ministry official suspected him, the Mumbai Police was informed. At the same time, the police also came to know that his name is not on the list of the security team.

A case has been registered against Pawar under Section 170 of the IPC. He was produced before the Girgaum court. He has been sent to five-day police custody. Shah's two-day visit ended on Wednesday. The incident reportedly took place on Monday. Due to the Mumbai visit, Amit Shah visited Lalbaugcha Raja and held a meeting with BJP leaders.
