New Delhi: Those in the 18+ age group will be able to get a booster dose of corona from April 10. The booster dose will be available at all private vaccination centres. In addition, the ongoing free vaccination programme through government vaccination centres for the first and second doses as well as the booster doses for health workers, frontline workers and the 60+ age group will continue. At the same time, it will be accelerated further.
According to the information received, 18+ age groups will be able to go to private vaccination centres and get a booster dose. Those above the age of 18 years who have taken the second dose and have completed 9 months will be able to get a booster dose. So far, about 96 per cent of all the 15+ population in the country have received at least one corona vaccine while about 83 per cent of the 15+ age group have taken both the doses. More than 2.4 crore booster doses have also been given to healthcare workers, frontline workers and 60+ age groups. 45 per cent of people in the age group of 12 to 14 years have also taken the first dose.
Let us tell you that the vaccination of 12-14 year olds is going on in the country since March 6. Children between the ages of 12 and 14 will be given the Corbevax vaccine.
