Ranchi: Big news from Jharkhand on petrol and diesel is coming in jharkhand petrol and diesel will get cheaper by Rs 25 in the new year. State CM Hemant Soren made the announcement. But only BPL card holders will benefit from this cheap petrol-diesel. CM Hemant Soren has said that from January 26, BPL card holders in Jharkhand will get petrol and diesel cheaper by Rs 25.

Let me tell you that jharkhand petroleum dealers association was also constantly demanding reduction in VAT rates on petrol and diesel. The association was demanding the government to reduce VAT on petrol by 5%. He says people will get a big relief if the government reduces the VAT rate from 22% to 17%. The association maintained that diesel prices are low in jharkhand's neighbouring states of UP, West Bengal, Bihar and Odisha. Vehicles plying from Jharkhand are filling diesel from neighbouring states. Which is causing them harm.

Ashok Singh, president of the same association, said petroleum dealers had written to CM Hemant Soren and also met the finance minister. But no care has been taken so far. Ashok said he had met the Finance Minister and submitted a memorandum in this regard, but his demands were not considered. He had said that there are 1350 petrol pumps in Jharkhand which directly provide livelihood to more than 2.50 lakh families. Businesses are only getting affected because of the high rates of VAT.
