The Corona epidemic has created terror not only in the country but the world itself, on Tuesday, the government informed that in the wake of the corona crisis, the exemption period has been extended till 30 September 2021 for the vehicles carrying life in the wake of the corona crisis. Last year, the government had set a date for 31 March 2021, but now this date has been extended to 30 September. It should be noted that this decision has been taken in order to ensure the smooth movement of trains for the supply of oxygen across the country.

Union MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari said in a tweet, "We have allowed the extension of the tax permit requirement under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 on 30 September 2021. The Minister said that this will facilitate the transportation and movement of oxygen between the states and our fight against the corona danger will be stronger". Meanwhile, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has also come out with a draft notification for exemption in motor vehicle tax.

Accordingly, the exemption in motor vehicle tax will be up to 20 percent in the case of non-transport vehicles and 15 percent in the case of transport vehicles. The ministry has sought suggestions from stakeholders in connection with the draft notification within 30 days. Earlier this month, the government revealed details of the vehicle scrapping policy, stating that a 5 percent discount on new cars would be given to buyers on scrapping old vehicles.
