Patna: Bihar's Nitish government has promoted many IPS officers. According to the notification issued by the Home Department of the Government of Bihar, 5 IPS officers have been promoted. Among the 5 IPS officers who have been promoted on Tuesday, the names of Lipi Singh, the IPS daughter of RCP Singh, the national president of Janata Dal United, are very close to Nitish Kumar.

Lipi Singh was removed from the post of Munger SP by the Election Commission in October this year, after which she was waiting for posting. Recently, the Bihar government made him the Superintendent of Police of Saharsa district and on Tuesday he also got a promotion. Lipi Singh is a 2016 batch IPS officer. Along with Lipi Singh, 2013 batch IPS officer Gaurav Mangla has got a promotion from 2018, 2015 batch IPS officer Vinay Tiwari and then Hriday Kant from January 2019, 2016 batch IPS officer Ashok Mishra with effect from January 2020.

During the Bihar assembly elections, the Election Commission removed Lipi Singh from the post of SP after a violent clash between police and locals in Munger. Violence erupted between police and locals during the immersion of the Durga idol in which a young man was killed in a shootout. People angry with this incident were constantly demanding the removal of Lipi Singh from the post of Munger Superintendent of Police.
