Patna: Voting for the third and final phase of the state is to be held on November 7 for the remaining 78 seats in 16 districts for the Bihar Assembly elections. A total of 2,35,54,071 voters will decide the fate of the candidates using their franchise. It has 1,23,25,780 male voters, while 1,12,05,378 females and 894 third gender voters in the general category. Apart from this, there are 22,019 service voters.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has the maximum number of 46 candidates, followed by the Lok Janshakti Party, which has 42 candidates. Janata Dal (United) (JDU) on 37 seats, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on 35 seats, Nationalist Congress Party 31, Congress 25, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party 23, Bahujan Samaj Party 19, Communist Party of India Has fielded candidates in two seats and the National People's Party in one seat. A total of 1,204 candidates, including 561 and 382 independents, are in the fray for the last phase under registered political parties. It has 1,094 male and only 110 female candidates.
The Gaighat assembly constituency has the maximum number of 31 candidates, while Dhaka, Triveniganj, Jokihat and Bahadurganj have the lowest number of nine candidates. Valmikinagar is the largest constituency of the assembly constituency, while Saharsa is the largest as it has a large number of voters. Hayaghat is the smallest assembly constituency. In the third phase, 33,782 control units, 45,953 ballot units and 33,782 VVPATs will be used in 33,782 polling booths and the election results will be announced on 10 November.
