PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while delivering Independence Day speech on August 15, announced that his government aimed to generate 20 lakh jobs, within and outside the government, in the State.
With the cabinet expansion of Bihar government scheduled to take place on Tuesday at around 11.30 a.m., the RJD may try to present an impression of being an ‘A-to-Z party’ by giving representation to leaders irrespective of community.
Chandrashekher Yadav, a Yadav leader and MLA for Madhepura, was nominated for the cabinet, according to sources in the RJD, and he will likely take his oath in the Raj Bhawan.
Mohammad Shahnawaz, a Muslim leader from Seemanchal who just switched from the AIMIM to the RJD, would also be a part of the cabinet.
The RJD during 2020 assembly election did not perform well in the Seemanchal, and in view of that the RJD would not take any chances to compromise on the Muslim vote bank of Seemanchal area.
Shahnawaz is the son of slain Bahubali leader Mohammad Taslimuddin and was instrumental in bringing four MLAs of AIMIM into the RJD.
Jagadanand Singh's son Sudhakar Singh is a representative of the Rajput ethnic group. Singh is one of the oldest RJD leaders who backed Lalu Prasad and is regarded as a notable Rajput figure in the state.
Alok Mehta, a Kushwaha leader in the RJD, has a position in Nitish Kumar's cabinet, it has also been confirmed. Mehta is the party's national general secretary at the moment.
Young leader Kumar Sarwajeet, who represents the Bodh Gaya assembly district, is seen as a key player on Tejashwi Yadav's team. In the Nitish Kumar administration, he might also be given a cabinet position. A Dalit representative in the party is Samir Kumar Mahaseth, who represents the Mithilanchal region. He might swear an oath there as well.
On August 16, Tej Pratap Yadav, Lalu Prasad's eldest son and "an unchallenged MLA," will also take his oath of office.
According to sources, Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Prasad, and Nitish Kumar have also talked about the speaker's position. The RJD is the favourite this time, and Awadh Bihari Chaudhary would preside over the Bihar Vidhan Sabha.
