Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has kicked off his campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He is scheduled to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Nawada on April 7, followed by a roadshow in Gaya on April 9 in support of former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi. On April 11, Nitish will hold another roadshow in Aurangabad to endorse BJP candidate Sushil Kumar Singh. Recently, Nitish also participated in PM Modi's public meeting in Jamui on April 4. The voting for these four seats is slated for April 19 in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, although none of them are JDU quota seats.

During PM Modi's public meeting in Jamui, Nitish reiterated his commitment to the NDA and expressed confidence in achieving PM Modi's goal of securing over 400 seats nationwide. PM Modi is set to visit Bihar for the second time within four days, with a rally planned in Nawada on April 7 in support of BJP candidate Vivek Thakur, where Nitish will also share the stage. According to the JDU's campaign schedule, Nitish will conduct roadshows in Gaya on April 9 and Aurangabad on April 11 to support NDA candidates Jitan Ram Manjhi and Sushil Kumar Singh, respectively.

The relationship between Nitish Kumar and Jitan Ram Manjhi had strained during the RJD-Congress rule, with Manjhi eventually leaving the Grand Alliance and joining the NDA. However, their relationship has since normalized, evident from Nitish's campaign support for Manjhi. JDU leaders have confirmed Nitish's plans to campaign across all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. JDU is contesting on 16 seats, BJP on 17, LJP on 5, RLM on 1, and WE on 1.

Efforts are underway to demonstrate unity within the Bihar NDA during the Lok Sabha elections, with all NDA leaders prominently featured in various election rallies. RLJP chief Pashupati Paras, previously upset over not receiving a seat in the NDA, has also been placated and may participate in campaigning for the allies soon.
