FIR lodged against Education minister and 24 other for doing fish party in Bihar

Jehanabad: Subdivision police officer, personal assistant to state education minister Krishnanandan Prasad Verma, at Makhdoompur police station in Jehanabad, calling the fish party's event a violation of provisions of the Disaster Act in a lockdown issued to prevent the coronavirus epidemic in Bihar. FIR has been registered against 25 people, including Block Development Officer of Makhdumpur.

On giving information, police sources said that Pintu Yadav, personal assistant to the education minister, had recently organized a fish meal at his new residence in Jehanabad. Around 100 people including Subdivisional Police Officer Prabhat Bhushan of Jehanabad, Block Development Officer (BDO) Anil Mistry, Circle Officer (CO) Rajiv Ranjan, Jehanabad and many other villagers attended the banquet.

Sources said that after receiving the information about the banquet, the state's Director General of Police, Gupteshwar Pandey, directed strictness to investigate the matter and take strict action against the culprits. In pursuance of this instruction, Pintu Yadav was detained and questioned. During interrogation, the accused confessed to organizing a fish meal in front of the police.
