Flood situation continues in Bihar, water logged in 12 districts

Patna: The flood situation in Bihar and Assam is getting worse. The population of 12 districts of Bihar is suffering from severe floods. Villages in the state have been submerged in floods. Due to the breach of the embankment near the Dumariya bridge in Gopalganj, flood water has been flooded in a large area. The administration has closed the Dumariya bridge connecting East Champaran with Gopalganj as a precautionary measure.

Teams of NDRF and SDRF are engaged in rescuing people. Bihar's western Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Supaul, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj and Khagaria districts have been badly affected. The rivers Bagmati, Budhi Gandak, Kamlabalan, Lalbakaiya, Adhwara, Khiroi, Mahananda and Ghaghra have crossed the danger mark. In Bihar's East Champaran, NDRF soldiers came out as an angel for the people. In East Champaran district, people trapped in water waves were crossing the river in a boat. But when his boat got stuck in the river, the team of NDRF pulled the boat to shore.

Many villages of Samastipur district in Bihar have subsided in the Uphanati Bagmati river. District Magistrate of Samastipur Shashank Shubhankar inspected the administrative arrangements in flood affected areas of Namapur Panchayat of Kalyanpur Block on Saturday. The District Magistrate directed to start a community kitchen on 50 people soon. In view of the problems of the people, instructions have been given to make maximum free boats in the area.
