New Delhi: Preparations for the Bihar Assembly elections are in the final stages and the phase of changing the party of the leaders is also going on. Shreyasi Singh, daughter of former Union minister Digvijay Singh, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Shreyasi on Sunday joined the party in the presence of BJP leader and Bihar in-charge Bhupendra Yadav and national general secretary Arun Singh and also met the party's national president JP Nadda.
Shreyasi, who has made her own identity in shooting, is now trying her target in politics. Earlier it was being said that she could go to Lalu Yadav's RJD, but this proved to be mere rumor. Shreyasi, who has been awarded the Arjuna Award, is a national-level shooter and won the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Earlier in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, he won the silver medal in the double trap shooting event.
Shreyasi's mother Puttal Devi has also been an MP who contested from Banka Lok Sabha seat. But when this seat went to the JDU account under the alliance in 2019, Puttal Devi took a rebel stance and jumped into the independent election riot. Although she could not win the election. Now the discussions of Shreyasi also contesting Bihar assembly elections are at the peak. It is being said that Shreyasi can contest from Banka or Jamui assembly seat.
