Patna: Now CCTV cameras will now keep an eye on every activity in the police station round the clock. CCTV cameras are being installed in all police stations in Bihar. The cameras are also to be installed at 4 railway police stations along with 38 districts. So far, 900 police stations have been put under CCTV camera surveillance. A total of 1056 police stations in the state are yet to be fitted with CCTV cameras.

The police have always been accused of assaulting the accused in custody, which is why CCTV cameras are being installed in the police stations. These cameras will also keep an eye on the police record room. It will keep an eye on the police behavior with the people who come to the police stations. The SHO's room will have a screen to see all the activities that are captured on camera.

Arrangements have been made to protect the recording of these cameras for one year. If these CCTV cameras are turned off, the control room will be aware of it. In such a situation, the officers of the police station will have to explain. They have to tell the higher authorities what caused the CCTV camera to be turned off. If it has been deliberately stopped, the police officer on duty may also be dealt with.
