Patna: A bank employee who raped a divorced woman colleague and extorted Rs 55,000 by making obscene videos has been arrested in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. The accused, Gaurav Kumar, used to sexually exploit and rape the divorced victim on the pretext of marriage. The city police have arrested bank employee Gaurav Kumar.
In October 2021, a woman bank employee had lodged a complaint with the Nagar police station accusing colleague Gaurav of sexual harassment. The victim had told the police that Gaurav had also taken off her obscene video and threatened to make it viral. Gaurav has also taken 55 thousand rupees from her by threatening her. The case was being investigated by SI Babita Kumari. Babita Kumari said that the victim and Gaurav used to work in a bank. The two were friends at the bank. The victim was divorced. Taking advantage of this, Gaurav increased the conversation with her and then started tricking her into marriage.
In November 2018, Gaurav took the victim to his house after telling her to meet his mother. He fraudulently raped the victim by feeding her drugs in the house. The accused also made a video of it. When the victim regained consciousness and started opposing it, he filled the sindoor in her partying line of forehead and put on a Mangalsutra, and said that we got married. Thus Gaurav accepted her as a wife and later promised to have a court marriage. Thus, Gaurav continued to sexually exploit the victim by keeping her in the trap. When she got pregnant, the accused aborted her. The victim was already married. He also had a baby girl.
