Patna: Police have been vigilant about the Bihar Assembly elections and therefore every vehicle is being searched with utmost seriousness. Assembly elections are proposed on October 28. Police raided the Kharghar police station area and seized several boxes filled with alcohol from a Scorpio and SUV four-wheeler.
During the search, 25 boxes of branded foreign liquor have been seized. Three people have been arrested in action. On the other hand, a large consignment of liquor has also been caught from Bikram Ganj, in which the police have recovered more than 600 cases of liquor. During the search this month, Rohtas Police has seized illegal liquor worth about 30 lakhs. As elections are near, liquor consignments are being caught in the Rohtas district.
On the basis of secret information, the police have checked the vehicles under the leadership of Police Station in-charge Sushant Kumar Mandal. The accused tried to outlast the police and absconded. Police arrested three liquor traders including the driver and checked if 25 boxes of liquor were caught. An FIR has been lodged against the three and they are sent to jail.
