Another death due to consumption of poisonous liquor in Bihar

Patna: There are reports of deaths due to illicit liquor in Bihar day in and day out. Recently, another person died after consuming poisonous liquor and two others are undergoing treatment. A police official said on Sunday that the deceased had allegedly consumed poisonous liquor in the Vaishali district of Bihar.

The incident took place in Mahua village on Saturday night which led to the death of one victim on Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as Munna Shah. Mahua divisional police officer Poonam Kumari rushed to the spot after the matter came to light. The deceased's family member Anita Devi said in her statement that Munna Shah along with two others had consumed liquor on Saturday. He said other people who consumed poisonous liquor were Naval Kishore Choubey and Ramanand Chaudhary along with Munna Shah.

Choubey and Chaudhary later went to their respective homes while Shah came home and fell asleep. Anita Devi told the police that her body was lying on the bed when I went to her room on Sunday morning. Choubey and Chaudhary are also in a bad shape. He was admitted to the divisional hospital at Mahua. Mahua SDPO said doctors referred him to Patna Medical College Hospital for better treatment as his condition was critical.
