Patna: A major attack on a police team is being reported in Bihar's capital Patna. One youth was killed in a clash between police and villagers, while 23 policemen, including an inspector, are said to be injured. According to the information, the police went here to stop campaigning.

According to media reports, there was a fierce clash between villagers and police in Dhanrua in Patna on Friday night. Police opened fire to rescue, killing 1 youth, while 3 others were injured. Meanwhile, about 23 policemen have been injured in the attack by villagers. Circle Inspector and Dhanrua Thanedar sustained injuries. The condition of some policemen is said to be critical. According to the report, police opened fire around 30-40 rounds in their defence. According to local media reports, the case is from Moriawan village under Dhanrua. Here, a candidate for the post of the head was campaigning in the area even after the campaign time (5 p.m.) was over.

When Dhanrua police came to know about it, they rushed to the spot to stop the publicity. The number of police teams at that time was very small. It is alleged that the chief candidate and his son provoked their supporters. The supporters then stormed the police team. At that time, somehow the police team returned to the police station. On returning, the police team informed the higher authorities about the entire incident, after which the officers rushed to the spot along with the police force. The villagers were furious to see the police force. They were attacked by villagers before the police took action.
