Patna: The investigation into the tragic discovery of a three-year-old girl’s body in a suitcase in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, has led to the arrest of her mother, Kajal. Kajal confessed to the police that she was involved in an extramarital affair and wanted to leave her husband. However, her boyfriend did not want her daughter to come with them, prompting Kajal to murder the child.
The body of the three-year-old, named Misti, was found in a red trolley suitcase on Saturday in the Minapur area of Muzaffarpur. The shocking discovery prompted local authorities to establish a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case. Forensic experts who examined the family’s home found blood traces on the floor, in the sink, and on the terrace. Kajal, who had been missing, had earlier informed her husband, Manoj, that she was going to her aunt’s place. Manoj filed a police complaint, leading to an FIR against Kajal. Police traced Kajal’s phone and conducted raids, eventually locating her at her boyfriend's residence.
During interrogation, Kajal revealed that she had been in an extramarital relationship for two years and wished to live with her boyfriend. "She intended to bring her daughter with her, but the boyfriend objected. In her confusion, Kajal slit her daughter’s throat with a knife, placed the body in a red trolley bag, and discarded it in the bushes near their home," said City Police Chief Awadhesh Dixit.
Dixit further stated that Kajal had attempted to clean up the blood stains but was unsuccessful, as the forensic team managed to find traces of blood. The murder weapon has been recovered. Kajal admitted that she was inspired by episodes of the TV show "Crime Patrol" to commit the crime. When asked about her boyfriend's involvement, Dixit clarified, "There is no evidence suggesting that the boyfriend was involved in the crime. Kajal has stated that her actions were influenced by the TV show, and there is no indication that her boyfriend persuaded her to commit the murder."
