Patna: On April 1, 2019, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced the CM Old Age Pension Scheme for the state's elderly. The initiative is available to Bihar's elderly people aged 60 and over. The government provides a pension of Rs.400/- per month to Bihar's elderly aged 60 to 79 years as financial help under the plan. Older adults aged 80 and up, on the other hand, receive a monthly pension of Rs. 500.

-A permanent resident of Bihar is required to participate in this pension system. On the other side, the candidate must be at least 60 years old. This programme is not open to retired government employees.

These documents are required:-
-Aadhaar Card
-identity card
-Bank Account Passbook linked to Aadhaar card
-Passport Size Photo
-Mobile Number


To apply, candidates must go to the official website, sspmis.bihar.gov.in. Then, on the homepage, click the Register for MVPY option. A new tab will now open. Fill in the requested information and click Next. After that, you'll be able to finish the rest of the application procedure.

The scheme's purpose is as follows:- As people grow older, they increasingly have to rely on others to cover their expenditures. The Bihar administration seeks to provide financial help to the state's elderly in order to reduce their reliance on others. The pension programme was established so that men and women who have reached the age of 60 might live comfortably for the rest of their life.
