Amidst of COVID-19 breakdown after the cancellation of International flights for more than 6 months the Ministry of Civil Aviation, India is allowing  Indians to travel 17 countries as it has established a separate bilateral air bubble arrangement. Recently it has made an agreement with Ukraine for the operation of special international passenger flights between the two nations. “Transport Bubbles” or “Air Travel Arrangements” is a temporary arrangement made between two countries with an intention to restart the commercial passenger services.  It is of reciprocate nature; airlines from both countries enjoy similar benefits.

According to it, Nationals/residents of CIS countries excluding Russia and any Indian holding any visa of Ukraine can travel from India to Ukraine, vice versa travel can be made by Indian nationals in CIS countries excluding Russia and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders holding passports issued by Ukraine. India had formed such arrangements with 16 countries and Ukraine is the 17th in the list. The 16 countries were Afghanistan, Bahrain, Oman, Canada, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, the Maldives, Nigeria, Qatar, the UAE, Kenya, Bhutan, the UK and the USA. In general Indian Nationals at the respective countries and the 16 countries nationalities strained in India can make travel.

The diplomatic visa holders, or resident permit holders, diplomats, seamen of foreign nationalities, overseas citizens of India holding passports issued by the concerned country can also travel few other different  inclusions and exceptions were made with the concerned countries.  Special international passenger flights have been operating in India under the Vande Bharat Mission since May and also under bilateral air bubble arrangements formed between India and other countries since July.
