The documentary will examine Newton-life John's and career as a legendary performer, best-selling musician, animal rights and environmental activist, and supporter of health, wellness, and plant-based remedies.

The task of producing the project has been assigned to R.J. Cutler's production company, This Machine Filmworks, according to Variety. The music and personal archives of Newton-John are completely authorised and accessible through this Machine.

Newton-John gained notoriety after collaborating with John Travolta in the 1978 film "Grease." She won multiple awards over her career, including four Grammys, an Emmy, and many others. Funny Things Happen Down Under, Tomorrow, Xanadu, Two of a Kind, It's My Party, Sordid Lives, Score: A Hockey Musical, and A Few Best Men are just a few of the numerous feature films she has been in.

The untitled documentary will be produced by Cutler, This Machine's Elise Pearlstein, and Trevor Smith, with executive producers John Easterling, Larry Mestel, Natalia Nastaskin, John Mason, and Mark Hartley.

This Machine produced the documentary "Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry," which Cutler directed and was nominated for an Oscar in 2021.

The Elton John documentary 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years That Made His Legend' is now in production for Disney+, and Cutler is serving as the project's director.
