Meiyang Chang is a multi-talented star in the industry. He was born on October 6, 1982, in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. His ancestors arrived in Hubei province in China from the 18th century lately they got settled in India. Chang started out as the boy with dreams on Indian Idol Season 3; he grabbed lots of discussions as he impressed judges there as well.

Chang grabbed names as one of the contestants of Indian Idol 3, a singing competition on Sony Entertainment Television channel. He was among the top 10 finalists on Indian Idol 3 and achieved 5th place in the competition with public votes. Meiyang Chang anchors the fourth season of  Indian Idol 4 along with his co-hosts  Deepali,  Parleen,  Emon,  Abhishek  and  Husaain Kuwajerwala.
