Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was born on 28th of may 1883 in Bhagur, the man was the leader of Hindu Mahasabha for a long period of time. The term “Hindutva” came into existence after he picks it up in his books. He was a politician, reformer, activist but there were a lot many times he was held under controversies. 1. He was involved in the murder of three British councils before the independence of India.
2. He was also accused to plan and plot thrives for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi but wasn’t considered because of the lack of evidence against him
3. He was arrested for a weapon revolt against a reform passed in the British Raj.
4. He was sent to Andaman for 50 years of imprisonment in the cellular jail.
5. He wrote mercy petitions various times in the jail.
6. His behavior in the jail was good and so he was send out just after 6 months of span.
7. After shifting to yerwada jail, he was later released on the terms that he will not participate in political affairs for the next five years.
