Samantha Akkineni is a beautiful and successful Tamil actress. Born in Chennai, Samantha made her acting debut with Telugu film Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010. Her performance won her the Filmfare Award as the Best Debut Actress in the same year. She also bagged Nandi award for the same film. Samantha completed her schooling from the St. Stephens Matriculation School in Pallavaram as well as Holy Angels Higher Secondary School in Chennai. Samantha graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Stella Maris College, Chennai.

Samantha turned into an actress not by choice but by need:

Samantha Akkineni was going through a bad time financially in her early life. She was modeling and taking up small part-time jobs to meet her ends. Popular director-cinematographer MR Ravi Varman noticed her and introduced her to the acting industry.

Runs a health-care NGO:

Samantha is in a lot of social work. She has established an NGO with the name Pratyusha Support provide healthcare support in specific regions. Her NGO offers treatment and medical help to deprived children and women in need.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is not her Debut film

It is believed that Samantha Akkineni made her acting debut with Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa but that’s not true. The actress’ first film was Moscow in Kavery helmed by Mr. Ravi Varman, who introduced her to acting.

She played the role of a diabetic in Satyamurthy and her real-life experience helped her to a great extent in enacting a dilemma of a diabetic patient on screen.
